In Search of the Perfect Name
Feb 6th 2008 12:44 pm
I am perhaps the most name impaired person on the face of the earth. Luckily, all but one of my pets already had a name when I adopted them. Also lucky that I never had to name a child. The poor kid would be going to high school before I had decided on the exactly right name for him. Lol!
So I was really thrilled when one of my critique partners posted a link to this name generator, a tool for writers that will supposedly help find the perfect name for any character.
You can input the gender of name you’re looking for as well as the letter the name should start with, first or last. You can also input whether you want the name to rhyme with something.
I played with it a little bit, only entering the gender, and this is what it gave me.
For male names: Jamie Shearin or Daryl Shultz.
For female names: Chrisy Kessler.
Not bad. In fact I’ve book marked the site and will definitely be visiting there again because my search for the perfect name is never-ending.
Check it out.
