Shifting Progress

I never in a million years thought I would be writing either cowboys or shape shifters. Not that I have anything against either one. My friend J.L. writes some of the yummiest cowboys and shifters I’ve ever read.
But me? I’m a city girl born and raised. What the heck do I know about cowboys or ranch life?
As for the shifter angle … I just never considered it.
This is the long way around to talking about the progress I’m making on my cowboy/shape shifter anthology story tentatively titled Serpent’s Embrace. That title may, and probably will, change. But I need a name for the project, something besides the snake shifter story.
So I have these two guys, my heroes, whose names are Cyrus and Bobby Lee. Cy is the cowboy and Bobby Lee is the love interest. Cy is also a shape shifter, a snake shape shifter who can’t bring himself to tell his lover about his *condition*.
I’ve got the first three scenes mostly written, drafted anyway. They’ll require some tweaking and polish but that’s no big deal. This morning I’m going to work on the scene where Cy is pushed into revealing his other nature to Bobby Lee, in other words, the big conflict scene. And I’m excited to see what the boys will do.
