Dressed To Thrill

By Kimberly Gardner

From Loose-ID

Blurb

Dumped. Right before spring break. What rotten timing! Since the trip to Key West is already paid for, Oliver decides that he’ll go anyway. Who knows?

maybe he’ll meet a hot guy to make him forget his woes. Little does he suspect he’ll be drawn in both by the gorgeous locale and a sultry drag queen.

Drew knows he has what it takes to be a star. If he has to wear a skirt and stilettos to make it happen, so be it. He looks good as a woman. But then he

meets Oliver and has his doubts. He can’t tell this terrific new guy what he does in the evenings. Not when they’re having such a great time and not when

Oliver will be gone in a week. Given the circumstances, what’s the harm in a little white lie?

But plans change when secrets are revealed, and both men’s deepest desires become their greatest thrills.

“I’ll have another one of those,” Oliver said. He angled his head toward the empty margarita glass on the table in front of him.

“Rocks and salt?” The waitress had to yell to be heard over the music.

Oliver nodded, and she scooped up his empty before hurrying away. Continue Reading »

Sunday Progress Report

kimberly on Aug 15th 2010 08:26 am

August 15, 2010
10:00 am

This is my first week *officially* reporting in on my weekly goals, and it went pretty well, all things considered.

My goals were to finish two lessons for the novella writing workshop, write 3k on Jake and Dennis’s story and revise three chapters of DWD.

The revision didn’t happen. At all. Nada. I didn’t even look at that file this week. So that one goes back on the goals list for the coming week.

I didn write 3k on Jake and Dennis’s story and I was pretty happy with most of what I produced until I realized that I had the whole beginning of the story wrong. *sigh*

So it was back to the plot cards after reading my favorite plotting article from Holly Lisle. And I think I have a workable story even if I’m still not entirely sure about the beginning. Of course this is nothing new. Getting the beginning is always the hardest part for me. Why should this story be any different?

The good news is, I think I can still use most of what I’ve written.

And finally, I got two lessons done for the workshop. I also found out that there are ten people registered for the class. Six of them are RRW members but four are not. I’m going to do a little more promo this week so hopefully we’ll get a few more students.

So my goals for this week:

1 Revise three chapters of DWD.

2 Complete three lessns for the nvella workshop.

3 Come up with a solid beginning for Jake and Dennis and write 2k on that story.

Let’s see how I do. Have a great week. Continue Reading »

A friend on the Rainbow Romance loop posted a link to this video. I’d seen it before, but was glad to watch it again because it’s one of the most inspiring messages I’ve heard on the writing life and being a writer. Enjoy!

There’s a female impersonator plot bunny nipping at my heels.

On New Years Eve I saw this female impersonator named Randy Roberts and he is so amazing! Here’s a link to a little piece of video so you can see what I mean. I am now a total fangirl. *g*

Rainbow Romance Writers — It’s Official!!!

kimberly on May 2nd 2009 05:52 am

I’m a little late with this announcement, but I’ve been super busy over these past couple of days.

I’m thrilled to announce that the Rainbow Romance Writers is the newest special interest chapter of Romance Writers of America. WooHoo!

And I am chapter secretary which explains why I’ve been so busy. It’s a heck of a lot of work getting a new chapter off the ground, even with the help and support of a group of fabulous writers like J.L. Langley, Jade Buchanan, Sarabell, Laura Baumbach, Jet Mykles and a ton of others too numerous to list.

We’ve all been working our fingers, and brains, to the bone to make this happen, and this week (on April 29th to be exact) we got the good word. We’re official!

In fact, here’s the announcement right from the mother ship itself.

“RWA Announces New Chapter
Romance Writers of America announces the formation of a new special-interest chapter, Rainbow Romance Writers, whose purpose is to advance the professional
interests of career-focused GLBT romance writers through networking and advocacy, dissemination of information, professional education, publications, and
other appropriate activities, and to provide continuing support for writers within the romance publishing industry. For more information on RWA’s newest
chapter, contact Sharon Bolger at
